The grapes for this wine were picked at night to keep the temperature cool and enhance fruit quality and freshness.

This wine is full of character highlighted with aromas of fresh berry, black cherry and candy.  The fruit flavours are balanced with a natural intensity and very smooth finish.

Bakenal by Evoi captures the spirit of the “bacchanal” - a wild, uninhibited celebration. This revelry ranges from mythological feasts attended by Nymphs and Satyrs, to the modern day Caribbean Carnival, which combines the energy of beautiful people with the vibrant colours, sights and sounds of the West Indies.

TASTING NOTES

COLOUR: Pale straw with golden hues.

NOSE: A complex bouquet of peach, nectarine, grapefruit peel, and fig, layered with savoury notes from yeast autolysis. Subtle hints of hazelnut and cashew are present, alongside a touch of reductive gunflint, adding depth and intrigue.

PALATE: The palate reflects the aromatic complexity, with a natural fullness and bright acidity that brings perfect balance. A creamy texture and subtle French oak enhance the structure, leading to an exceptionally long and elegant finish. A truly holistic wine, beautifully integrating fruit, savoury elements, texture and finesse.

WINEMAKING
